We have had lots of questions since we launched the website and just thought we'd put together some of them as we're sure that alot of our customers have the same questions. If there is a question that you don't see here, please send it to us!! 1) Can I finish the bats? YES! The bats are unfinished but can be finished or used as they are. 2) What would I use to finish a bat with? You can use polyurathane, paint, stain, varnish, etc... Just about anything that you apply to wood can be applied to your bat. 3) How do I put finish on the bat? You can brush it on, dip it, wipe it on, or spray it on. It's all a personal preference as to how you want the finish to appear on the bat when it's dry. 4) Are you the former New York Maple Bat company (NYM)? Yes! We produced bats under the NYM label until July 2007 when we had a major fire and lost our finishing facility. We are no longer producing bats under the NYM label. 5) What if I have questions or need more information about your products? You have several options. You can use the "contact us" link to send us your questions or you can check the "LIVE HELP" box in the Support Center on the right of the screen. If it says "LIVE HELP ONLINE" then there is someone there to answer your question right away. Just click on the box and live help will be moments away. We answer all questions within 24 hours -- including weekends! We encourage anyone that has questions or may need more information to let us know! We look forward to hearing from you! 6) Do you offer weighted bats? We are not offering weighted bats at this time. We are hoping to expand in the near future and be back up and producing as we did in the past. Right now, we offer the same top quality bats with the same top quality service on our unfinished bats! 7) Is this the same Ben Aaron Lumber Company I have dealt with in the past? YES! Ben Aaron still owns and operates the company using his 30+ years of experience in the logging/woodworking field. Since the fire, he has made quite a few changes within the company and its employees and is now focusing on unfinished bats and billets. To assure that you are always receiving top quality wood, Ben is constantly scouting logs, working in the mill, and drying the wood to keep our production on track. Ben takes great pride in his company and he wants you get the best bat or billet you possibly can. At 70 years young Ben is still going strong and works daily to personally oversee the entire process from the forest to the field! |
