There are a lot of bat companies out there producing wooden bats and there are a lot of companies that claim that they "do it all" from the log to the bat but we wanted to show you that it isn't just a claim at Bats & Billets--it's a fact!

We do it all from the FOREST right to the FIELD!

Here is a batch of logs waiting for processing at Ben Aaron Lumber Company in cold, snowy western New York. Our mill workers work in all kinds of weather to keep our production on track! Not all logs are selected and Ben is very particular about each logs quality before it even enters into production.

Here is our state of the art vacuum RF kiln. Ben is a master at operating the kiln and literally "babysits" it during the drying process to assure the proper moisture content for perfect billets!

Total drying time varies with each species of billets but it is considerably shorter than with a conventional kiln. Conventional drying can takes months to produce product while we produce billets in days!

After drying to perfection in the kiln, each piece is run through the S4S (surface four sides) machine to produce square billets. We sell our product both square and doweled to the preference of the customer. If the order is for squares then they are hand inspected for quality, weighed for classification, put on a pallet, wrapped, and ready for shipment.

Should a customer need dowels then the squares are doweled immediately after S4S processing. After weighing, and careful inspection to assure top quality the billets are now ready for shipment or our own production.

Only a very small percentage of each load of billets pass our high quality standards to make pro weight and of the remainder only a small percentage are used for bat production for our website. We have strict quality standards that assure that our customers receive the same quality of wood that a pro would swing!

After milling, drying, sanding, and doweling the bat making process begins!

We use a CNC lathe to produce each bat model. The machine is highly technical and has the capability of producing custom bats for the professional or pleasure player. Each dowel that is used in the machine is once again hand inspected for top quality before, during, and after production.

After turning, the bats are nash sanded, and then hand sanded again to assure the perfect surface for your desired finish, or to head straight the the field!

Each of our customers has the option of cupping and personalization if they desire. Our brand new laser engraver is top of line and produces fantastic results! You have your choice of three fonts and up to three lines to be as creative as you want and make your bat your own!

Before shipping each bat is once again carefully inspected for any possible defects or errors in production. We strive for top quality customer service and satisfaction!
